Important update with TimThumb script.

Yesterday we were informed about a security issue with a script called Tim Thumb, this script resizes the image files so they sit correctly within the theme design.

We utilize this script in all of our themes. Please update your theme with the latest version or copy the code from this page and paste it into your thumb.php file which is inside of wp-content/themes/”Theme Name”

If you experience any issues updating the script or your theme please post a message in our support forum and we’ll help you from there.

Ezekiel Theme Launch

We’ve just launched a brand new theme geared for churches called “Ezekiel“. We’ve designed and coded it with very specific features for churches.

Home-page Elegance:

The Ezekiel theme comes with a great looking home page. We have designed it with the idea of it being a full featured website rather than a WordPress blog. The home page features an image slider powered by javascript and customizable images for custom links. There is also an “I’m new here” button for first time visitors so you can connect specially with them.

Sermons and Multimedia:

Ezekiel marks the first time we have included streaming sermons as well as a built in podcasting system that is easy as pie to set up. You just need to add new sermons and the podcast is auto-generated. Your users can also stream them right on the site in a convenient pop-up window so they can continue browsing without the stream stopping. This is functionality we plan to add to all of our themes from now on – and will also be updating the Moses theme to include podcasting as well. So if you have the Moses theme don’t worry we haven’t forgotten about adding these cool new features! Stay tuned to the blog here for updates.

The idea with the Ezekiel theme (as with all of our themes) is to have as little setup as possible and be up and running quickly. We also have harnessed the power of WordPress in some new and creative ways to make your life easier and your website more effective. We can’t wait to see what you will do with it! Check it out here.

Two New Theme Design Teasers

We have been busy with theme releases and updating our WordPress options panel and upgrading adding features to older themes but we still have time to keep designing new themes. We plan to release 4 more church themes and then we plan to release at least 6 new musician/band WordPress themes in 2011. After that we plan to release more general generic themes for businesses, photographers, bloggers and much more.

If you have any ideas for theme designs or niches you think that might be successful let us know in the comments. Were always interested in what our customers want, We want to serve you and provide something different in the WordPress theme market.

Here’s two sneak peeks of two of the Church themes we are planning to release in June/July.

Ezekiel Theme – Coming Soon

(Update) #1 The Ezekiel theme has now been released, You can see the theme demo and features list here

Hey all – if you have been waiting for the newest theme from us we have good news: it is nearly ready for launch! It is called “Ezekiel” and it will be geared towards church websites. We have been beta testing it and are working out any problems you might run in to. We want to make sure that it is super easy and powerful at the same time. So stay tuned cause we’ll be adding it to the list of themes very soon.

Here’s a screen shot of what the theme looks like.

Tutorial: Correctly setting up Permalinks

So what are Permalinks I hear a few of you say? Well its the link that is displayed in the browser bar, It can either be pretty for example or something not so pretty like which isn’t great for visitors as its not memorable and doesn’t tell the visitor what content is shown on the page or search engines.

We would recommend setting up your Mint Themes WordPress Permalinks the following way.

1. Log into you’re WordPress backend usually
2. Go to the Settings tab in the WordPress backend and then click on “Permalinks”
3. You will see a field called “Custom Structure” delete what is in the box if there currently is anything.
4. Type the following into the box: /%postname%/
5. Click “Save Changes”

This will now allow your URL’s to be pretty and much more memorable for visitors, below is a screen shot of how it should look.

We have been getting this question quite a lot on the Support Forums so thought we should write a small tutorial to help our customers.
